What do you get when you put twelve men on a carbon fiber boat sailing through some of the World’s most extreme and violent Oceans? The Volvo Ocean Race Round the World. The Volvo Race formally known as the Whitbread Race, asked Nomad to develop an idea to help brand the race and bring to life the breathtaking, often times extreme and dangerous world of ocean racing. The goal was to develop a product that would showcase Volvo’s sponsorship and involvement in the race, provide a memorable gift for corporate sponsors and other divisions within Volvo, and sell to the general public. Working with some of the world’s preeminent photographers and sailing authors, Nomad created a spectacular four-color coffee table book that brought the race to life.
The Volvo Round the World Race 2001-2002 received the Independent Publisher’s Association Award for Best Sports Book of the Year award.
